Former President Thaci's plan for “Presidential Baulat” is cancelled by Osmani, the decision could take the country to Arbitrazh

Former President Hashim Thaci's plan for “Presidential Palace” is not being implemented by current President Vjosa Osmani. She has decided not to change her office during this term. Canceling this project can also take the country to Arbitrazh. Kosovo risks millions of euros if such a decision is made. President Vjosa Osmani does not [...]

President Vjosa Osmani does not plan to leave Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Chief Prime Minister Glauk Konjufca.

Despite its predecessor's plans for the presidency staff to be deployed to the facility of the former entity, in the “Mother Teresa” Square, Osmani has decided that this mandate will continue working by the current office.

This has already been revealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration, which is responsible for accessing institutions.

Information on this project has been classified until November last year, when it is also set to declassify them.

“With the date 12,11.2021, deputy secretary-general of the President's Office, has announced to the MPB) secretary general that the President's office during the current term does not plan to root out at this facility. So, because there is no reason for protecting this information anymore because the reasoning of the above-mentioned Commission report is no longer relevant, it was determined as to the device of this” decision.

Express has sent questions to the Presidencys and MPBAP to get information about this project, but none of these institutions have responded until the text publication is present.

Millions of euros in risk if project is canceled

If this project is completely cancelled, Kosovo could add one more case to the International Court of Arbitrazhi.

For such a thing, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Hajrullah Ceku himself has warned.

Ceku said there has been a tendency for the Ministry of Culture to leave the Square in Pristina and, according to him, a contract has been made with an operator, where he said that the minister is having trouble canceling it, as that penalty they will pay in this case is huge because the contract has been able to reach over 50m euros.

The contract has been classified and we've barely declassified because it also has its own procedure. It's about a few million, but our lawyers can now go and look at it and see the terms of the contract or re-assign the” contract, Ceku has declared in ATV.

According to him, there was an advance in expropriation.

“The contract has been millions to start the first renovations, but the overall plan, according to those who have been involved in that process, has been able to reach over 50m euros, because it has been meant to fix even the security ray, to have expropriations, can be calculated expropriation in that part of the capital<1>, Ceku said.

Thaci's plan for “

Displacement of the presidency staff to the former presidency facility has been the plan of former President Hashim Thaci.

To survive this plan, the decision was made to shift the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Culture, which used this object. These two ministries were scheduled to be placed in rented objects.

The MBPHR staff had respected this decision and fled the facility, but not even the MKRS. The workers of this ministry had protested the object in opposition to this decision.

After these ministries were removed, it was planned to begin renovation of the facility. For this, the Pristina municipality permit was also secured.

“The Ministry of Public Administration applied and was equipped with appropriate permits for the renovation of the building that the former Committee under legal provisions to power” had declared by the municipality two years ago.

The application of this facility for Presidnca's need was meant to last 15 months, until the exact cost of the project was never made public.

“According to the detailed project drafted and delivered to the municipality for permission, some 15 months are expected to extend renovation. The exact cost is not yet known, while the means for renovation are available in the budget of 2019-2021”, had stated by the Ministry of Public Adminitrat (tash) MPBAP for Express.

Kurt had warned Thaci that he would not allow the shift in this facility

Still without being elected prime minister, Albin Kurti had suggested to Hashim Thaci that he and his staff would not allow him and his staff to move to the object of the former state, where the staff of the Ministry of Culture and Agriculture were then deployed.

Through a post in his Facebook account, the VVA chief had suggested that they would not allow the transfer of the Presidency to this facility.

“This means that we cannot allow staff relocations to buildings just to meet the luxury appetites of individuals assigned to the political nomenclature, nor the need for illegal benefits of owners of certain private objects”, Kurti wrote on Facebook.

Kosovo risks 330m euros in Arbitrazh

Kosovo risks losing millions of euros in Arbitrazh. By September of last year, Kosovo has been indicted by six companies.

According to Justice Ministry data, the total value of these indictments is around 330m euros.

Companies that have indicted Kosovo in Arbitrazh are: Mabco Constructions, Bedri Selmani, FoxMable LTD, Pray Credit, Blerim Devolli and Contour Global.

“Regarding session dates, AVS still does not have an exact time or invitation from the Tribunali about the courses in progress. Justice ministers and AVS are ready at any time to respond to demands by the Tribunali and defend the Republic of Kosovo in the face of demands by companies or individuals, the MDCE responses reported.
