“US plans sanctions for 52 people from Republika Srpska and BiH”

In the coming period, the US could impose sanctions on persons from the lowest levels of government or direct perpetrators of corrupt acts, especially people or companies that “on the ground” conduct acts that are charged against Serbian presidency member Milorad Dodik, writes Klux. According to Sarajevo's headquarters portal, the number of 52 names will be met by politicians and magnets, not only from Republika Srpska, but also Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The US on 5 January expanded sanctions against Milorad Dodik, Banja Luka Alternative television, former Judiciary and Prosecutorial Council President Milan Tegeltija and his wife, as well as the president of the Movement for Democratic Action (PDA) and the director of the Banovic mine, Mirsad Kukiq.

Sanctions towards Dodik and the Alternative television focused on property and financial flows, while married couple Tegeltija and Kukic were barred from entering the United States.

Dodik was previously sanctioned by the US State Department and therefore he cannot obtain a visa for the US.

In addition to jeopardising the Dayton Agreement and the collapse of state institutions, Dodik is accused of creating a security network in BiH and the region he and his associates benefit from.

One of the examples of his corrupt actions is that he gave government contracts and monopolies in Republika Srpska to close business associates.
