Osmani for Ibrahim Rugova: It's the face of the state.

President Vjosa Osmani has remembered former President Ibrahim Rugova on the 16th anniversary of his death.

When he spoke of the independent state of Kosovo, realising the idea seemed not only difficult but also distant. He was the man who transferred the steps of state making, transforming the trinomic -- freedom, independence and democracy on the axis of activity for Kosovo state.

All three became reality jointly with the state of Kosovo.

Today, on the 16th anniversary of leaving forever, we remember with respect and humility the founding father of the state of Kosovo, historic president Dr. Ibrahim Rugova.

He not only worked for the state of Kosovo, but lived with this idea.

Rugova had vision for Kosovo then, but also for Kosovo now.

My “Vision is to have an independent, democratic Kosovo, with a politically tolerant society and a solid, integrated economy in the European Union, NATO and to continue our good relations with the United States” had said in one of its statements with full conviction that Kosovo's “independence must and will be fully recognised”.
