“For the president of the Republic of Kosovo, the main goal remains to respect the principle of sustainability, equal approach, and regular electricity supply. In view of this, it is required of the ERE that, as it has already mentioned in the published document, make sure that public consultation [be] at the centre of effective regulatory policies. Respectfully, Z. The RHR is seriously invited to address the comments and recommendations of the interest parties and to integrate them into the final document, so that the new tariff structure is not discriminated against certain consumer groups in the country”, is being highlighted in the comments of President Osmani.
Today is the deadline this institution will accept comments on the issue of expensive electricity proposed through a consultative report that was released on January 17th.
The consultative report was made under the extraordinary review that the ZERE has made for changing electricity tariffs.
The body that regulates activities in Kosovo's energy sector proposed the expensive electricity for all consumers who spend over 600 kWh per month, prompting reactions and two protests.
Taking on a commitment from the Ministry of Economy that it will allocate 75m euros to ease the impact of the energy crisis on tariffs, Z. The RHR has said that rising electricity prices will save only consumers who spend less than 600 kWh per month.
According to the ZERE, consumers who spend up to 800 kWh per month and those who spend even more will not help the government's subsidy.
The ERC report proposes that the fee for consumers at 800kWh spent monthly will rise to 13.31 euros. While consumers who spend 1,000 kWh of electricity per month, according to the ZRRE proposal face a 24.62-euro electricity price increase.
