On December 29th, 2021, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has adopted the concept document on State.

Very happy that in this concept-document, which will then be issued the new Law on Citizenship, the comment and proposal of the President's Office, which will enable Albanians from Medvedja, Presheva and Bujanoc, to be equipped with citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo. More specifically, all citizens from Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanci, who have stayed in the Republic of Kosovo at least 5 years from 1206.1999 to 31.12.2021, will have the right to gain citizenship based on regulating the legal framework with this document concept, while in terms of procedural criteria, it will be regulated by sublegal acts issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Valley Albanians will never be overlooked. The institutional co-ordination is higher, and this will bring positive results. Next step: drafting the bill and then adopting it in the Assembly. Looks like a good year in this direction.
