NATO is considering sending additional forces to Eastern Europe

NATO could deploy additional combat units in Eastern Europe in response to the accumulate of Russian armed forces units on the Ukrainian border, North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said today. “
“We are considering the possibility of further strengthening our presence in the Alliance's Eastern Wing, which may mean placing additional NATO combat groups”, Stoltenberg told the media in Brussels, Reuters quoted.
NATO has so far deployed around 4,000 troops in multinational battalions in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, with support from tanks, air protection, intelligence and surveillance forces, according to the British agency.
