MSH is not allowing three Italian doctors to operate in Pristina

Three Italian doctors have not yet managed to obtain the license to start with children's operations in Kosovo suffering from congenital heart disease. The project was presented in July last year for the opening of a pediatric cardiology hospital from “Italian Medical Group”. With it he intended to [...]
It was aimed at operating for the first time on children who suffer from this disorder. However, this is being impossible because of administrative barriers to investment in our country.
As the sole investor from Switzerland for the project, he expresses disappointment with Kosovo institutions. Faithful Abazi, who is a psychiatrist's specialist and owner of the psychiatric polyclinic “Rufsteinweg GmbH”, at Listal of Switzerland's Baeland canton, says the Health Ministry is not licensed three specialised Italian doctors.
It is a sin not only for Kosovo health but for children who look forward to surgery, the parents of those children waiting for their recovery. This is surprising how our institutions, namely, the Ministry of Health on the basis of the decision or stubbornness of an official not to allow a project of such great importance and move forward”, he declares.
He is the only investor in the project and so far says he has provided half a million euros in Pristina, where he is also the department willing to start with work.
My investment in Kosovo is to open Italian pediatric cardiology in Pristina. Given the fact that in Kosovo there are pediatric cardiosurgeons, doctors, surgeons operating hearts for children born with heart defects in Kosovo. To this day they are sent to Istanbul, Belgrade, Italy. In other European countries for healing. There is no profile in Kosovo at all of pediatric cardiology. We are able to have Italian professors, doctors to bring to Pristina, because we have opened the pediatric cardiosurgeon department, but the license of medical experts, Italian surgeons is not being allowed by the Ministry of Health for reasons of administrative obstructions by a certain person who is responsible for license”, he said.
For three consecutive times, he says the demands of three Italian licensed doctors are not being realised.
And you can always insist that these doctors should be temporarily licensed. But these doctors have made individual requests and have no connection with temporary licenses. Our Italian doctors require sustainable licensing, and not just six months of”, he says.
There have been numerous meetings for this, but are still failing to help children in Kosovo.
“The engagement so far has been zero. Minister Vitia has never taken our demands seriously, never responded to our calls, our emails. Under the law, an administrative directive that is also in force at MSH 102011 allows non-cosed doctors to license and equality. The same has been done by our doctors, who are being refused three times. The only thing we have left is judicial ways”, he added.
There is also fierce criticism for this, including the director general of the <x0th Italian Medical Group sh.p.k”, Angelica Corica.
She claims for Kosovo Press, that she is disappointed and what is happening is scandal.
