Pristina's Constitutional Prosecutor has reacted after reports that the prosecutor in the case of Bedri Rexhepi's disappearance has not provided clarifications and has not been cooperative with Rexhepi's family.
The prosecutor's reaction reportedly took the case on April 13th of last year (five days after Bedri Rexhepi's disappearance), and on her orders, the suspect Jeton Vlasaliu was detained, against whom criminal acts weighing “the kidnapping”, and the same was sent to custody.
“We understand the concern of the families of the injured and society in general, but family claims that the prosecutor of the case has not been co-operative and has not been committed to the case, they do not stand, because due to the reporting of this case, the prosecution has undertaken all necessary investigative actions, co-operating with the Kosovo security structures, as well, meeting in line with the prosecutor's family members and their defence attorneys, and that currently against the case, the prosecution is continuing the investigative action company with the intent to clarify the criminal case in this instance, the prosecutor's response is said.
Otherwise, Bedri Rexhepi has disappeared under mysterious circumstances on the evening of April 8, 2021.
His family has blamed the rule institutions for not doing enough to find Bedri.
His brothers had even sought help from citizens in finding Bedri for what they would offer 20 thousand euros. But even this had not resulted in his finding.
