According to local media reports Bejhan Mutlu, a 50-year-old man from a rural region in Turkey, was drinking with his friends when he left in a forest and then returned. Worried about him, his friends later warned the authorities, who set up a search-saving mission to find him, broadcast Periscope.
According to Turkish Channel NTV, when news of the disappearance was received, efforts to locate it intensified in nearby neighbourhoods, with a large group of volunteers joining the mission. This search group was calling the name of Mutlu for hours when suddenly a man from inside the group spoke up and said: “Who are we looking for? I'm here.”
It is unclear how Mutlu found himself in his research group or how his friends did not understand he was under their nose all the time. The police were able to safely escort Mutlu to his home.
This is not the first time an missing person has joined their rescue mission. In 2012, an Asian tourist who disappeared in Iceland was also found in her research group because she was said to be unable to recognize her description./ P ERISCOPI/
