British Prince Andrew has lost his military titles and gears, and they have returned to Queen Elizabeth II, Bookingham has announced.
This decision has been made after his lawyers have failed to convince an American judge to reject a civil indictment against the Prince in which he is accused of sexual abuse.
He is accused of abusing a girl at the age of 17, something he repeatedly denies.
“With the approval of the Queen, the military titles of the Duke of York, and royal auspicess have returned to Queen”, the royal palace said through a statement.
The “Duka of York will continue to refrain from taking over public duties and will defend its case as a private citizen”.
According to some sources within the Palace, he can't even be referred to in the style “Your Majesty”.
His role will be distributed among the other members of the royal family.
