Today 10 years Kosovo began dialogue on visa liberalisation

Today, Kosovo citizens still cannot move freely to Europe despite the state having met the criteria for liberalisation and that this commission has supported this. Negotiations were launched on January 19, 2012. The country, apart from the usual criteria, faced several additional ones. Among the most vocal was the issue of demarcation with Montenegro, which was repeatedly cited as the condition for visa liberalisation.
With the 10-year period since negotiations started, Kosovo has spent the longest period in the region on this status quo. Since even 10 years have sufficed for Kosovo, Georgia was the other country that has long remained in the same situation for four years.
Unlike Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia, it has taken them for three years, while Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia for two years, according to a graphic posted by the Epic Institute.
