Albania's National Security Committee is holding a two-day visit to Kosovo, where they are hosted today by the chairman of the Kosovo Defence and Security Commission, Beka Berisha.
At the media conference, the chairman of Albania's Commission for National Security, Nasip Naco, said that during these two days they benefited from each other, and that they agreed with members of the Commission for Defence and Security, that if problems arise at the border crossing in Morina, then joint meetings will be held.
“As a NATO member, Albania has moved forward and only last week have we inaugurated the Kucova base, worth over $50m that serves to strengthen defence capacity and the rest, as agreed, if we will have problems at the border point in Morina, we will have joint meetings with the commissions, with the heads of police”, Naco has indicated.
Furthermore, he said that if citizens from Kosovo were faced with problems with the Albanian Police, then the commission he leads would call the general police director and would identify problems so that co-operation is real.
While the chairman of Kosovo's Defence and Security Commission, Beke Berisha, said it would intensify co-operation between the two commissions.
We had a meeting, we're coordinating in order to intensify co-operation, and that's real, and not that we're used to seeing as “we're brothers, but we need to be strong and don't do anything”, but we're going to do a list of jobs that are going to make it real”, Berisha said.
