Under that decision, Kastrati is said to have failed to carry out his jobs effectively and acted contrary to the RTK Law.
The announcement is said to have 9 votes D and no KU AMONG, Kastrati was dismissed from office by RTK General Director.
Their announcement said the Board RTK found a general director's neglect to irregularities, abuses, non-employment, nepotism, degradation, continued partial reporting, and not the target of Kosovo's public broadcaster.
By December 31, 2021, RTK has had 239 people engaged in service contracts. Many of them are engaged in the most essential jobs of RTK's operation, such as journalists, cameramen, montagers, security workers, etc. Moreover, Mr. Kastrati has confirmed through official channels that the functioning of many RTK units depends on the individuals engaged in these contracts”, it is said in their announcement.
According to the announcement, Kastrati, throughout his entire mandate he has failed to open contests to recruit the workers needed for the proper functioning of RTK.
“in the absence of competitions, persons who are not subject to recruiting assessments are engaged. Service contracts have continued without an assessment of engagement performance. On the other hand, the board is concerned about the labour rights of those who are engaged in these contracts. Based on labour contracts, this form of engagement does not provide for holidays and other benefits that the Labour Law guarantees for workers. For example, there have been times when women employed for services were not known to rest. There are contracts for services that have been written through email to the RTK Board, that for many years (including the last three years) they have never received a weekly, monthly or annual holiday”
