The former minister of Internal Affairs has expressed regret over his 18-month period of leadership of the MPB.
Since delivering office to his successor, Agim Veliu, on February 4, 2020, has been completely withdrawn from public life. He decided to return to his profession and business.
Mustafa, who held the post of MPB leader for 18 months under the rule of Ramush Haradinaj, said he would never again get into politics, even if he is offered the position of chief of state.
I have interrupted all my political commitment the moment I gave up duty to Agim Veliu and I never get into politics. Even if I am offered the position of president, I no longer accept politics. I have my profession as a doctor. I have three businesses in Pristina and Ferizaj”, Mustafa told Paparac.
Mustafa also spoke of Jhelal Svechla's leadership at the MPB, saying he should implement laws and act on the tasks he has described with the Constitution
I'm dealing with the political situation in the country, even the prime minister (hur) and minister's (Svecla) very little. The minister of Internal Affairs has to describe duties with the Constitution and must implement them. Government creates special laws. Police shares the minister does not receive, they are as a result of Prosecution”, Mustafa said.
According to Mustafa, police shares are not in the hands of the minister.
He's been running a Facebook post all day, I've been minister myself, and I've been notified a day before the” stock, Mustafa says. “They are not the shares the ministry organises, they only implement ministry policies. Right now he's a minister, if he's had results in disassemblement of gangs, criminals of these, then he means they're as a result of policies that have been led by MPB”.
The former minister said he cannot analyse Kurti's current governance and his cabinet, since “is short time to give any assessment”.
For these nine months I can't give recognition. I've been minister 18 months and six months later I've started doing things, for months we can't give any credit. We have to wait at least three to four months to see where they've got the”, he says.
Mustafa was appointed minister with the insistence of former ruling majority coalition delegation PDK-AAK-Nisma, Labinot Tahiri, who had conditioned his support for the government on the appointment of a ministry by Ferizaj.
So, “Labi” had proposed Mustafa for interior minister. His proposal was approved by his former party chief, Behgjet Pacolli.
On February 4th of 2020, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs was held the admission-over ceremony of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Administration. In this case, former minister Ekrem Mustafa had handed over the post to the new Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Administration, Agim Veliu.
