Albania's president, Ilir Meta, said he would not appear at the session for his dismissal at the Constitutional Court on 1 February.
Meta said he does not trust a court that has not responded to the Venice Commission on the municipal election issue.
“I do not go to a court that has not given a fair answer in terms of municipal elections and has not responded to the Venice Commission on this crucial issue”, Meta said.
However, Meta does not boycott the session, but will send a legal representative.
Meta said the problem of Albanians is not his dismissal or not, but local elections.
Meta was dismissed from Parliament on June 9th 2021 by 104 votes, 7 against and 3 abstention.
By February 1st, the Constitutional Court is expected to make a decision on the issue. /euronews.al/
