Hajrullahu: Russian officials in UNMIK serving to erode Kosovo's stability

Using the United Nations Mission (UNMIK) by Russian officials to destabilise Kosovo has caused local institutions to make decisions to declare these people. So university professor Arben Hajrullahu said in Top News, adding that Kosovo would have to do so every time.

“The essence of this issue is the misuse of the UNMIK Mission by Russian servant, who in this case does not adhere to the mandate which is clearly defined in Resolution 1244, but serve in a way to erode Kosovo's stability, sovereignty and independence. In this case Kosovo is forced and thus would have to act again”, Hajrullahu told Zone Zero at Top Channel.

He adds that there is immunity to these servants, but that when they violate national security, then they are declared unwanted in the country.

Kosovo institutions and representatives are not so naive not to know that. Clearly, there is immunity to UNMIK Mission servants, which are not subject to local trial, then Kosovo would behave differently to persons who endanger national security, then be brought to local justice. Since this case exists, then the institutions in question declare the unwanted person in the country”, he added.

Despite UN statements that Kosovo has not informed them of this decision, he says institutions are not naive enough not to know.

The clarification offered by the spokesman to the UN here has conflicting information. Kosovo institutions say they have previously informed them in the right way, but apparently the frustration of the Federation of Russia, which has beautiful deconstructive positions, not only Kosovo but other countries in the region. We know what happened in Montenegro, northern Macedonia and what is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Hajrullahu has ended.

Days earlier, Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Minister Donika Grovalla had indicated that he has issued the decision to declare non-married persons of the Russian UNMIK official, with the argument that he violated Kosovo's national security.

Antonov has been engaged in expanding the pro-Russian element in blockades that were made in northern Kosovo in September 2021, when Serbs were rejecting measures for reciprocity with plates.

Russian official Antonov had first come to Kosovo in 2001 as part of the mission with Russian police, which had remained only about a year. Later, he had returned in 2005 until 2008 to eventually settle in 2011 to live in Gracanica with his wife Natasha.

It is not the first time Kosovo has declared Russian officials undesirable, respectively, of the UNMIK Mission.

At the end of May 2019, the Russian official UNMIK, Mikhail Krasnoschekov, was declared no-greet after being involved in undermining institutions, being part of criminal structures in northern Kosovo.

Krasnoschekov had participated in the establishment of barricades in the north, preventing police. Even in his UNMIK vehicle, motor saws were found, with which trees were cut to block roads.
