While snow is common in the Greek mountains and northern Greece, it is less frequent in central Athens and on the Aegean islands, writes Euronews, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Last year, a huge snowstorm caused serious problems in the capital, cutting off electricity for days.

Turkey also covered with snow, with authorities in Istanbul blocking the bus service across the city.
Schools throughout Turkey have been closed for a winter break, but universities have stopped learning for two days. Public offices and shopping malls were closed early.
The Istanbul governor's office announced that civil servants would be allowed to stay home on Tuesday, except for those employed in the security, health and transport sectors.
