New Government Formation in Northern Macedonia Expected Late Week

Kovachevski says preparations for the new government are in the final part, while the programme and cadrovic solutions are harmonised with coalition partners.

Our aim to form a stable government with clear principles of action has been realised. Such a government means efficiency in work and stability in solving the serious challenges ahead. Regarding cadrovic solutions, I would say that they are people who reflect efficiency at work, have serious professional, fair capacity and a desire to work for citizens and society. Social democrat values and access to politics are also the features of the new team. They are people who believe in equality and solidarity, who fight for the rights of the endangered, while justice is their characteristic”, Kovachevski said in an interview for the News Agency.

According to him, each is variable, especially if at a certain moment it is no longer in office and this will also be the basic principle of effective leadership and new government. As for the new government composition and dictatorships leading the LSDM, he adds, it is about a team of young people, but it is also a framework witnessed by the preliminary government that had good realisation and results in their dictatorships.

And I expect from all of us maximum dedicated work, realising the promise and focus of the priorities of the program. The new government will be very productive in its work, dedicated to economic challenges, as well as strengthening the standard of citizens' living. For this to be achieved by each member, each part of this engine must function without faulting”, potential Kovachevski.

Kovachevski, after receiving the mandate from the head of state, said he plans the government to propose about January 10th, in the shortest term from the constitution's forecast.

That mandate from President Stevo Pendarovski received on December 29th, after LSDM's head of state was announced for the mandated proposal, supported by political parties that together have the majority in the Assembly. After receiving the mandate, the 20-day mandater, no later than the 20th day, should be submitted to the Assembly with proposals for the new government's personal composition and government work programme.

Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, in his final statement at the end of December last year, questioned journalists about the procedure for electing the new government, voiced hope that the mandater would not respect the deadlines. given what he said, done in advance and reporting on possible individual personal solutions.

He added he expects it to operate on January 17th of 2022.

In any case, options for organising the work of the Assembly are envisioned, even if the deadline is the 20th day, even if the deadline is shorter. But, however, the moment the government personnel and programme are taken, then the Parliament's deadline begins within 15 days of that moment to call the session for the government's election. The session takes two days. The second day, before midnight, is to be voted for a new government. It will likely be January 15th-16th, which means that the proposal will be made at 10th11, 15-16 to hold a debate for two days, the second day at 16, before 400 to vote for the new government, which. would take office in the ministry at 17 in the morning -- in the government as a team with mandates and all competencies derived from the election decision” -- Xhaferi explained.

From the government's LSDM for the day warned the Executive Council session, after which certainly at 8:00 the Central Council will also have a meeting.

Party deputy chairman Sanja Lunarevska, in a statement issued before last year's holidays, warned that on Monday there is expected to be a session of the LSDM Central Council in which Chairman and mandated Dimitar Kovacevski will present the names for the composition of the government cabinet, after what will continue relevant procedures in the Assembly. In accordance with the Law on Government, the government elects and sacks the Republic of Northern Macedonia's Assembly by majority of votes from the total number of MPs.

During the government's composition proposal, the termant proposes ministers for each of the ministries confirmed by law and ministers without a dictatorship. The government takes office on Election Day.
