Such a practice has been constantly criticised, but for complying with the provision of law, by the Independent Union of Administration say they and civil society should consult. Although they have not voiced opposition, it has said Kosovo must take European Union practices to the ground.
The Private Sector Workers' Union has demanded that the law be respected equally for employees of this sector.
While the Kosovo government says it will support any initiative to change this disposition.
“As to the issue raised on changing the provision which currently determines that there is a day off even when the official holiday falls over the weekend, like Government we support in principle changing this disposit”, has declared for ATV, the Kosovo Government's spokesman for Progress Kryeziu.
There's 11 parties in the official holiday kalander. The law on official holidays has entered the process of change during 2021, when Egypt's Day is expected to be added to the calendar.
