Gorani: Ibrahim Rugova has great credit, guided the country west

Journalist Dukagjin Gorani has said on the Pressing show in T7 that it is the inevitable credit of former Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova, whom Kosovo today is instructed by Western countries. Gorani says that during the 1990s he had been critical of Rugova and his political activity.

I worked as a journalist” at the time, he relates.

I've been critical and very aware of what was happening, but now that I look back I've looked at Rugova and criticized him, but tonight he's just getting used to it.

Gorani shows it is an important point during those developments, which makes him praise Rugova's policy.

Now when I look, and I have to say we have time to look at the events with another eye and analyze them, Rugova has a great credit. It was never considered. He was the one who managed to line up the people behind him and run him west. At the time, they were incomprehensible to us, the Western strategic, ideological, geopolitical and geotechnology alliances if I could say so. But it was he who managed to turn a forgotten country into Europe towards America and democracy, as there was freedom. Freedom came with democracy. We saw the fruits of this alliance a few years later. The path of our freedom in the 1970s passed only to Tirana. We only had nationalism as theory, we didn't know about regional, global integrations. Kosovo has been blind intestines in the time of Yugoslavia, Rugova led west”, he added.
