Germany hopes the Omitron variant will lower the mood

The Omitron version of the coronary can lower pressure on the health system in Germany if this version turns out to cause easier disease, despite increasing cases of COVID-19.

So declared Michael Weber, chairman of the Medical Association in Germany on Sunday.

He said that the coronary would not be a threat to the health system, if Omitron became a dominant variant in Germany, just as it was done in South Africa, Britain or Denmark, and if infections are easy, as in these countries.

“There is a real probability that the pandemic will become vascular in this state”, Weber told the Welt am Sontag newspaper.

As Omitron spreads to Germany, new cases have also increased in recent days. But the number of patients lying in intensive care departments has also increased.

German Health Minister Carl Lauterbach has expressed optimism that Omitron appears to be less dangerous than preliminary variants, but he has stressed that this option still poses danger to the elderly and unexplored.

The highly contagious vaccine, Omitron, has caused worldwide increase in cases. Infectations worldwide have scored a new record, with an average of over one million cases detected daily between December 24th and 30th, Reuters data said. But the death toll in this period has not increased, raising hopes that Omitron is less deadly.

On Sunday, Germany reported 12,515 new infections and 45 victims. The total number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic in this country has reached 112,155.

Lauterbach also said that wearing masks is important.

The viral load of Omitron-infected persons is lower, so masks are more effective. Everyone has to wear masks when they meet other peripheral”, Lauterbach said.
