Bill Gates issues another warning: Much worse pandemic expected than Coddy

Bill Gates has issued another warning about the much worse pandemic than David-19, and called on governments to contribute billions of dollars to prepare for the next global explosion. The Philanthropist said that while Omitron and Delta variants of the Coronavirus were some of the world's first - ever transmission viruses, the world could face a pathogen that causes a much higher rate of death or serious illness.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Wellcome Trust of the United Kingdom are providing $300m to the Coalition for Epidemiological Preparation Innovations, which helped develop the Covax programme to provide vaccines in low- and medium-income countries. The CPI is trying to collect $3.5 billion, as it aims to cut the time needed to develop a new vaccine in just 100 days.

Gates said the world's priorities were the strange “” and that it was up to philanthropists and wealthy governments to deal with vaccine inequality.

When talking about spending billions to save.. . trillions of economic damage and tens of billions of lives, it's a pretty good insurance policy”, Gates said.

He added that much of the innovation to prepare for a future pandemic may also be useful in dealing with existing global health problems, such as creating HIV vaccines and better vaccines for tuberculosis and malaria.

Gates said that two major vaccine development sponsors during the Codov-19 pandemic, CPI and the American government were the courageous “” putting money at risk to create wider portfolios of potential vaccines. But he acknowledged that more must be done to increase supplies to vaccinate the world. /A2 CNN
