Gastronomers seek an emergency meeting with Minister Latifi: We were damaged with new measures

The Kosovo Gastronomies Association is demanding an emergency meeting with the Ministry of Health, following the establishment of new measures that have entered into force today. Representatives of this association state that institutions in the country are trying to deepen the economic crisis in the country.

They say that during the next week they will meet to decide how they will act after that decision.

Arian Vranica of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association says of Kosova Prees, that the Ministry of Health is now and again deciding on new measures without consulting this sector.

We are extremely concerned that there is so much tendency to deepen the deteriorating economic situation. Since the end of last year we've had signals that there will be serious economic situation, crisis, in this situation we are in and with the variant we're facing, I don't think these policies are adequate. In the economic situation in which we are aware there is an increase in inflation, there are rising prices in supply and there has not been an easy way to proceed with fiscal policies that facilitate the business afarism in times of crisis”, he says.

According to him, countries in the world despite the large number of cases with COVID-19 are not taking such measures. Vranica asks the Health Ministry to be invited to the meeting to discuss these measures.

We haven't gathered yet, because we have several groups and organs inside the association that decide and get proposals, then we make decisions. We will gather as the association for the next week and the first and necessary requirement is to invite to the meeting what touches it, just as it did to school directors because of the education ministry's response and to address private institutions, this case to organizations that deal with these businesses... We call on them to meet with the Minister of Health urgently, we've requested an appointment even though it had to invite them directly, but it's not seen as reasonable”, he declares.

He further notes that the measures that have been implemented today have damaged businesses, since supplies preparations have been made for the entire week.

Even the Hotelry and Tourism Oda has reacted to the Government of Kosovo following the deployment of new anti-tour measures. - CO VID, under which restaurants and cafes will be allowed to work only until 9:00.

The hotelmen's response said the new measures were taken without any consultation with organisations or associations representing businesses, and they for these measures have through social networks and media.

Due to an increase in the number of positive cases with COVID-19, the Kosovo government on Friday has decided on new measures. From today the gastronomy will work until 9:00, while the music is allowed itself until 20:30.
