Top News, citing diplomatic sources from the French Foreign Ministry, says even the EU position is that Kosovo has not effectively met all 95 criteria set for visa liberalisation.
Meanwhile, the European Commission Office says on the other hand that Kosovo has fulfilled the criteria for visa liberalisation.
The quarter of the French presidency is not expected to bring any changes to the visa liberalisation issue to the EU Council, as official Paris continues to declare that Kosovo has not yet met the conditions specified by Brussels in a firm manner.
However, France will organise a summit for the Western Balkans during its presidency, and Kosovo will be closely involved in preparing this summit.
The Western Balkans is one of the geographical priorities of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union and will be the subject of a conference in June.
