“A think inflation is political responsibility in the mid-term elections”, the journalist asked the American president, while journalists were leaving the hall at the end of a White House organisation on Monday.
Biden is heard answering in a low voice, as he seems to think that the microphone is stopped: “No, it's a huge asset more inflation. What a son of a bitch. ”
The president had the microphone in front of him, but it seemed he was talking to himself or he might have thought the microphone was off, writes The Guardian.
The exchange of words between them took place at the end of a meeting of the White House Council for Competition, where officials offered up up-to-date data about efforts to fight inflation, which has now reached 7 percent.
The White House this month has said inflation will only be a temporary problem, but some Democrats have expressed concern over the longer possible political consequences.
