Under fear of crash, Krivokupic gets ministerial competencies

Montenegro's Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokkapiq on 24 January took the lead in the Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Minorities, removed Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic from National Anti-Corruption Council head and removed the head of the state delegation for negotiations with the European Union, Foreign Minister Djordje Radulovic. I asked what she wanted [...]

Asked what it wants to accomplish with the dismissal and removal of ministers' competencies, Krivokapiq said it is unacceptable “for the Government to fall from within”.

As he participated in a media discussion panel in Podgorica on 25 January, he said a <x0-state <x0-state” is under way, but did not give more details on the topic.
Later, Krivokapiq told reporters that Foreign Minister Radulovic had long worked against the current government.

“I have not raised the issue of dismissal of any ministry, although it is now clearly seen who worked for whom”, Krivokupic said, adding that he expects such ministers to resign.

On the other hand, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, the removal of ministers' competencies, and possible dismissals praised them as reflections of powerlessness.

The government will complete everything on February 4th. If they think changes contribute to the situation, there is no problem for me. But if one touches the constitutional order, especially the security order, provokes unrest in Montenegro or erupts nationalism, there will be adequate answers in the same second”, Abazovic said.

Abazovic's Party, U Civic Movement RA, along with other parties, has submitted a no-confidence motion to the Krivokapic government to parliamentary procedure. The motion will be voted in the Assembly on February 4th.

In response to the motion, Krivokupic has asked the Parliament to hold the 3 February session for Abazovic's dismissal from the post of deputy prime minister, but also for cutting the Parliament's mandate to open the way for early parliamentary elections.

Abazovic has proposed establishing a minority government. Meanwhile, the no-confidence motion against the Government has been signed by coalition members “black on white”, the URA Movement and the CIVIS Citizens League, which are part of the current ruling coalition, as well as opposition Social Democrat Party parties, Social Democrats, Bosniak Party, Albanian List, Albanian Coalition and a part of Montenegro's president Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists.

Zdravko Krivokapic's government was elected on December 4th 2020 with the votes of the pro-Serbian Party Front Democratic Front, Democrats and Civil Movement Bridge as the expert government, while the only politician in it is the leader of the Bridge Movement, Dritan Abazovic, who holds the post of deputy prime minister.
