Faithful Bislimi: Ready to continue negotiations with Serbia

Kosovo's “government is ready to continue the process of dialogue [in negotiations with Serbia], as it has done so far, in the sense of reaching that a final, comprehensive agreement that would bring recognition of Kosovo from Serbia. Our approach is completely open and constructive, but it is based on principles that today are the foreign policy base of NATO states”, Bislimi said in a written response to Radio Free Europe.
In December last year, Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said Serbia wants the continuation of dialogue, but has accused Kosovo authorities of not wanting to continue the process.
The European Union has the role of facilitator of Kosovo dialogue Serbia and the Kosovo government estimates the EU has maintained minimal neutrality in the process.
However, the Government expects the European Union to maintain a framework of dialogue that is based on the very values of its founding treaties and an approach that promotes regional security of the Western Balkans, in compliance with NATO expectations and in protecting our region from the Russian influence of”, Bislimi told Radio Free Europe.
