Erdogan will become mediator for Ukraine: Putin agrees to go to Ankara for meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted his Turkish counterpart's invitation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to visit Turkey and find mediation on the Ukrainian issue.
“Putin will travel to Ankara when its commitments and the pandemic situation allow this”, the Turkish press reported, citing the Kremlin, it reported.
Erdogan has also scheduled an official visit to Ukraine early in February to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The head of the Turkish state has recently voiced its intention to mediate between Moscow and Kiev and last night, during a television interview, stressed that “Turkey wants to reduce tensions between Russia and Ukraine before they return to a” crisis.
President Erdogan has close relations with President Zelensky and Putin, even though Russia has recently expressed dissatisfaction with the sale of Turkish production fears in Ukraine.
There are other disputes between Moscow and Ankara regarding the conflicts in Syria and Libya, where the two countries are present militarily, but on opposing fronts.
