Dodik celebrates sanctions against him: “One meter of the village does not change to the great America”

The Serbian member of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Milorad Dodik, along with his party colleagues and friends in the cafe, has “celebrated the new sanctions imposed last night by the United States of America against him. Dodik's party published the video in Titter, where the Bosnian Serb leader is seen celebrating with his close associates just hours after the US sanctioned him.
Republika Srpska President Zeljka Cvianovic, Dodik's adviser Radovan Kovacevic, etc. also attended the party.
The party also featured former chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Supreme Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and chairman of the Movement for Democratic Action Milan Tegeltija, who was also sanctioned yesterday by the US, who put it on the blacklist, forever preventing it from entering America.
Dodik and his associates sang the song “America, America” by Serbian singer Miroslav Ilic. In this song, published in 1993, the author sings how he would not replace “a meter of village” with “The large American”, writes Express.
The US Treasury Department announced on Wednesday the expansion of sanctions for corrupt acts, in which Serb presidency member Milorad Dodik is involved. As noted, sanctions have also been imposed on television alternatives from Banja Luka, which connects with Dodik.
New sanctions include blocking assets and banking accounts.
“As a result of today's action, all property and interest in the property of the above-listed sanctioned U.S. or controlled by an American citizen are blocked and should be reported to OFAC (US Treasury Department Office for Foreign Property Control)”, said the US Treasury Department's announcement.
It was also stressed that sanctions include other types of bans.
All transactions conducted by US citizens, or within the United States (or in transit through the United States), involving any property or right owned or sanctioned persons are otherwise prohibited, unless OFAC issued a general or specific permit or exemption. The bans apply to either contributing funds, goods or services from, either to the benefit of any sanctioned person, or to receiving any contributions or funds, goods or services from such a person”, the report says.
Dodik described the verdict as pointless “”, while lamenting new sanctions against him.
Perhaps the first thing you notice is the time to announce this decision - on the eve of the happiest Christmas party. Historically we as a nation have been attacked at great festivals and know that those behind this decision know. The second thing that comes to mind is that a country that boasts human rights and media freedom has sanctioned media”, Dodik said a few minutes after the publication of the decision.
Besides Dodik, the US also imposed sanctions against former head of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Supreme Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and the chairman of the Movement for Democratic Action, Milan Tegeltija and Republika Srpska Parliamentary Assembly representative Mirsad Kukic. Both got on the blacklist because of their involvement in corruption.
Recently, Dodik openly threatened to ban the work of state judicial bodies on Republika Srpska territory and that RS laws would be adopted within a month, which would confirm his first concrete efforts to secede from Bosnia.
His position confirmed even after the announced sanctions.
“If Bosnia is dissolved and undoubtedly disbanded, Republika Srpska is the only one that can function”, Dodik said after a session of his party's executive board
