Kosovo will soon face a crisis of lack of labour force. From research done, it has turned out that with the relief Germany has given Balkan countries for working visas, it has led Kosovo's workforce to leave the country.

According to Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi, this is due to low wages in the private sector, lack of working conditions and inadequate treatment of workers.

According to a survey by the Institute for Advanced Studies (GAP) concerning the migration of Kosovo's workforce in Germany, the escape of the workforce is most threatened by the 2015 regulation approved by Germany, which enables citizens of Western Balkan countries easier access to the German job market.

Meanwhile, Kosovo Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi has told Radio Kosovo that such a crisis has only hit Kosovo, as far as gold is concerned.

According to the data, Azemi said that from 2018 to 2021 there are more than 200,000 workers expelled from Kosovo. He said the dismissed workers are qualified in various fields.

Meanwhile, the owner of a local company, which mainly deals with construction worker Rifat Lutol, said they lack technical staff, as some of them have fled to European countries.

Otherwise, the German Embassy in Kosovo has indicated that there are about 57 thousand requirements for visa lots procedure during the month of December of the year we left behind. While, according to the Order for the Western Balkans, about 460 term for working visas has been envisioned per month for Kosovo.

The law on migration of the qualified workforce to Germany has raised concerns in Kosovo that a considerable number of citizens, primarily qualified ones, will leave the country. /rtklives/
