After declaring the state of emergency in Kazakhstan by the now retired president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, he sought help from the leaders of the countries of the Organisation of Collective Security Treaty (CSTO).
In aid to former Kazakhstan's president came Russia, which sent troops to Kazakhstan, these troops that are leading Andrey Serdyukov, who is commander of the Russian Air Force.
Photoreporter Pierre Crom, through a tweet on Twitter, said Serdyukov had led Russian forces even during the war in Kosovo and during the Ukraine Crimean tensions.
So far it is reported that violent protests in Kazakhstan have killed 18 people, and hundreds more are injured.
These protests began on 2 January as a result of the rise in the price of liquid gas and the socio-economic situation.
