The country's president, Kasssym-Jomart Tokayev, called for intervention by an alliance that consists of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan [but not Albania] late Wednesday, the request that was adopted immediately.
It came after violent clashes continued between protesters and police and the military in Kazakhstan, reports The Guardian, translating Periscopi.
There is little credit information about the number of victims, but local news agencies that had quoted a spokesman for police in Almati said the number was dozens of sos.
The city authorities of Almati said on Thursday that 353 police officials were injured and another 12 were killed. /Periscope
