National protests are being held today in front of the DP headquarters called by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha against current leader Lulzim Basha.
Berisha urges his departure from the party's leadership after the December 11th coalition called by him and Basha's dismissal later and in a referendum with membership.
Basha was given the 5 January release of offices, and after this deadline expired Berisha and the Refounding Commission announced protest on their house retake”. Berisha has been in open confrontation with Lulzim Basha since 9 September, when he ousted Sali Berisha from the DP parliamentary group after declaring US grants. Shortly after that, Berisha began his tour of the colloquary with membership across the country, which culminated in the December 11th Parliament and the referendum on Basha's dismissal on December 18th of the year we left behind. According to the Refounding Commission, set up for the restructuring of the DP, Lulzim Basha has been fired by over 44,000 votes of DP members.
He named the process of his dismissal of legislation and manipulated, while stressing that he would not leave the Democratic Party's direction by accusing Berisha of using the party for personal protection.
