Belarus and Russia are scheduled to hold joint military exercises next month in Belarus, a state bordering Ukraine. Russia, except in Belarus, has gathered thousands of soldiers near Ukraine's eastern border.
In the course of continued diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions, France's President Emmanuel Macron is expected to hold a telephone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday.(anews/periscope)
