KEK officials have announced today that Kosovo's B2 B2 Block B will start operating after technical rehabilitation this afternoon, as it enters production, produce electricity somewhere in the middle.
Yesterday, it has been warned that this very important capacity for electricity production and supply of Kosovo consumption at this time of obvious power shortages will be restored to production this morning. However, the several-hour prolongation of this bloc's restoration has been made due to the most comprehensive test of its stabilisation, after the 39-day remont, or since December 14th, when it stopped working after the technical defect was found.
Skender Bucolli, KEK's spokesman, has said that recent tests are being conducted on this block after the redmont, and sometime in the afternoon it will start with work, and somewhere in the middle of the B2 will be locked and start production.
That way, if everything goes according to predictions, Kosovo's consumption will also have 260 megawatts of electricity, meaning 260 megawatts per hour less expensive electricity imports.
According to KEK officials, during Friday day it has been worked mainly on finalising all jobs, even the most impressive and remote ones, and on verifying the re Noahing jobs that have been going on since December last year.
Everything about the remont has already been done, so all the work around the defect repair that drove this power-making unit out of work for over a month has been finalised and after the last tests, today towards the B2 midnight will be back into production”, KEK spokesman for the Economic Bulletin has said.
As the public has been informed many times since December 14th of last year, the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has signed a contract worth 248 thousand and 650 euros for the commitment of even foreign experts to inspection and repair damage created by the independence in the low-pressure turbine at the B2 thermal power plant.
The contract winner is “G E Steam Power Service France Representative Office in Kosovo” branch in Kosovo, with which the contract is signed through negotiated procedure on December 23rd. The financing is done by personal KEK means, while the duration of the contract is set to be 21 days, which means approximately the deadline for performing re-detoning jobs under the contract has been met.
In announcing the signing of the contract, it is stressed that KEK has no technical capacity and professional expertise to cope with this independence with its own forces, and therefore it is necessary the commitment of GE experts from Germany, who are at the same time turbine producers.
Blocks of the Kosova B thermal power plants, Kosovo B thermocental Kosova B, respectively, although it is already quite the old “”, have started working since 1979, is very important, even experts, is central to the production of the current for Kosovo consumption. On the other hand, both blocs have a capacity of over 600 megawatts in the generator, while their capacity is 520 megawatts on the grid. Each block, so it has the capacity to network 260 megawatts per hour. Thus, Kosovo's consumption Sunday will add 260 megawatts per hour of electricity, meaning 260 megawatts/h less expensive electricity import.
