There are fewer missing people. What this means is that a great challenge we lack accurate information. The lack of proper information about where these missing persons might be. I'm not just talking about mass or individual cemeteries, but also about information from other people who didn't necessarily kill them in the war. We have numerous evidence that many people are taken alive from Kosovo and their fate is no longer known what has happened so far”, Hoti said.
Andy Hoti, who also wants information about his father, Ukshiin, says there cannot be normalisation of relations without Serbia facing the past. According to him, the only address for these crimes is Belgrade, since many of the wartime leaders are in position even now.
The lack of accurate information is due to Serbia's game that even after 22 years, the issue of politically-defunct persons is addressed. They still play politics on this issue, they still don't serve accurate information on the crimes they've committed, but they try to get through some false, sometimes manipulated documents to give us information that turns out of course not found. Serbia still does not express itself ready to co-operate with us and face the past”, he adds.
Hoti stresses that over the past year there have been over 100 meetings with internationals to address the issue of missing persons. In all those meetings, he vows to have sought the dawning of the fate of missing persons and the opening of all war documentation that Serbia possesses.
We need greater pressure and greater cooperation of the international factor. Because we have no opportunity and no pressure on pressure on Serbia. We know that. It is the international factor, the European Union, the United States, Great Britain, who are friends of Kosovo that they need to turn their focus more and increase pressure with more dedication to Serbia, so that this issue has epilog”, it further declares.
In the separate agreement for missing persons, he adds that Kosovo cannot be a party.
Besides applying for their documents and archives, we also have a request to Brussels and the European Union to be guarantor. We've tried, it's 22 years, it's 16 years of bilateral meetings with Serbia, and we've proven that there's still 1600 missing persons and we're seeing the result. Therefore, we ask and it is necessary much for Brussels to be the guarantor of our meetings with Serbia. Brussels should ensure for us that the issue of missing persons before the final agreement should receive an epilogue”, he stresses.
Furthermore, the issue of 300 unidentified mortar remains that took place at the Pristina morgue says it must end this year.
The head of the Kosovo delegation for talks on the disappearances, Andy Hoti, says they are expected to begin excavations at Serbia's Staff and have information on many more mass cemeteries.
During the past year, family members have been handed over for burial - the remains of only 25 persons. In Kizevac, Serbia's morto remains of nine people, seven new ones and two reunifications have been identified
