Earlier, Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic said that on Wednesday, January 5th, sanctions by the United States against individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina are expected to be declared.
In November last year, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the United States, which mediated in achieving the Dayton Peace Agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, could impose sanctions on those trying to withdraw unilaterally from state institutions or destabilise the agreement.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's diplomatic chief, Turkovic, told reporters on January 5th that sanctions would be announced during the day, suggesting that the issue had been worked on for a long time.
She said there is a harmonised stance of the United States of America and the European Union, and that this will not be the end, but only the beginning of imposing sanctions.
Turkovic said she also expects those who impose sanctions to clarify the details and list the entities to which they apply.
