US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Havenier has said he remembers January 15th 1999 very well when 45 Albanians were massacred in the Recak.
From there he has cited Serbia's efforts to change the truth and denial of what is likely 23 years ago.
“We are aware of efforts to rewrite history and misinterpret the facts about the cruelty that took place here. Like Bill Clinton said: This was a deliberate act intended to sow fear”, Havener has expressed itself.
<x) Peace and justice come from admitting past crimes. This is vital that such crimes not happen. Accepting the truth is only the first step of justice”.
No one can forget or deny what happened here. That is why the US and allies rose to the defense of the people of Kosovo, defenseless civilians and in the name of peace, freedom and stability. We believe that all peoples deserve to live in freedom and safety”.
Havenier has cited a Martin Luther King, the American human rights leader “Injustice somewhere, is a threat to justice everywhere”.
