Ali Ahmeti: Rugova politician example for Albanians, wider

DUI Chairman Ali Ahmeti has remembered former Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova on the 16th anniversary of his death.

Ahmeti has said the policies led by Rugova have given much not only to the Albanian people but also to the region and beyond.

“16 years ago, Ibrahim Rugova, patriot, intellectual and major contributor to the national issue, Kosovo's first democratically elected president and personality working towards the path of independence, democracy, peace and freedom. Rugova led with the state of Kosovo towards friendship with other major states, which continues to preserve autokton values to this day. I remember him with deep respect and appreciation because he always came to our aid when we needed him.
