By government decision, Leonora Selmani and Minire Begaj have changed positions within the Commission. The first, who was a member, has now been appointed chairman of the Commission, while the second from the mayor's position now remains only a member.
This change is made in order to overcome challenges to the realisation of this Commission's mandate, in a significant and extremely important process for the future of the survivors of sexual violence during the war, their families, and for our entire society”, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said before seeking approval by members of the government cabinet.
Former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa had appointed Minire Begajn chairman of this Commission as top executive in 2017.
Three years later, the government of Avdullah Hoti on December 7th 2020 had changed and fulfilled that decision, replacing a commission member from the Mustafa Government decision.
