Albania launches second term at UN, Jaka: We will also exploit it on the Kosovo issue

From today, Albania will sit at the United Nations Organization Security Council table.

The seating in this important institution represents great challenge, but also an excellent opportunity for Albania and could be considered one of the greatest achievements of Albanian diplomacy.

On the occasion of this landmark event, Albanian Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka made a message of congratulations where, among other things, he said Albania would use this moment and advance the Kosovo issue.

This is an achievement every Albanian in the world must feel proud of. Starting with our brothers and sisters in Kosovo because Albania will undoubtedly use this opportunity to advance the Kosovo issue, the process of recognition and membership in international organisations because Kosovo has been, is and will be a sacred cause for Albania. We will work for Albanians, but we will also work for our region to consolidate the achievements of recent decades and not allow it to slide towards destabilising tensions. We will work with our partners' allies to advance together our common priorities, thus consolidating even more the strong ties that unite us”, Gacka said.
