The fate of being abandoned during the year 2021 had 16 children on the entire territory of Kosovo.
The official for the protection of abandoned children, at the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transference, Magbule Koci, has told of the news that most children abandoned during the following year are male.
“Based on regular reports from the country's Centre for Municipal Social Work, from January 2021 to now results in 16 new cases of abandoned children. Of them, 6 children are female, and 10 children are male-gender”, she said.
Koci has added that according to recorded data, mostly cases of abandoned children have been recorded in capitals.
And compared with the preceding year, the number of child abandon cases in 2021 has marked decline.
This year, the number of abandoned children has dropped. During 2020, 28 cases of abandoned children have been recorded, with the largest number of abandoned children being the Mitrovica Centre for Social Affairs and Prizren”, she has announced.
