Vuciq protects “Open Balkans”: All countries win, join Kosovo

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic, strongly defended the “Open Balkans initiative”. The head of the Serbian state stressed that the benefits are great for all states, so he also invites Kosovo to join the project. “Of course, Serbia will benefit from the “Open Balkans initiative”, but also Albania, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro, [...]

“Of course, Serbia will benefit from the “Open Balkans initiative”, but also Albania, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro, across the region. And there is no doubt that Pristina would want to participate and they would also have a great benefit. ”

Vucic inaugurated Pristina's official position regarding this initiative.

I think they don't see their economic situation well and they don't understand it well, but what to do. Maybe they see the future better than I do. But we'll see the result anyway. ”

These statements were made after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. The two leaders discussed economic development, investment and relations in the region. The discussion was also the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, where Erdogan voiced support for advancing this process.

President Erdogan has supported dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and believes it is important to reach a compromise solution. But we focused not only on Kosovo, but on the entire region. ”

Vucic announced that the Turkish president will visit Serbia within the year and stressed that Turkey presents an additional guarantee for stability and the preservation of peace in the Western Balkans.
