Vuciq: We have information that Kosovo begins lobby on September 4th.

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq said in Bled Slovenia that Kosovo, September 4th, will begin with new requests for admission to international organisations launched by INTERPOL, UNESCO and the Council of Europe.

Vuciq said that Kosovo, with this step, will fully stop implementing the Washington Agreement and that such a “will bring additional instability to the region”.

On 4 September last year, Kosovo and Serbia, under US mediation, have reached an agreement on normalising economic relations.

With this agreement, Kosovo has agreed to the year-long mortorium on membership requirements in international organisations, while Serbia has agreed to give up the campaign to recognise Kosovo's independence.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora in Kosovo, Free Europe confirmed for Radio that preparations are being made for application in several international organisations, but did not provide more details.

At the Strategic Forum in Bled, Vucic met with the European Union's special representative for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

Vuciq said dialogue with Kosovo will continue at the technical level.

Responding to journalists' questions in Bled, Vuciq also said it is clear to all that Serbia cannot membership in the European Union until it resolves relations with Pristina.

Under EU mediation, Kosovo and Serbia are holding talks on normalising relations since 2011.
