Through a Facebook post, the State Department has said the new Pfizer doses will enable Kosovo to protect its citizens more quickly.
As more options of COVID-19 increase as Delta, today's donation of 503,100 doses of Pfizer vaccine will enable Kosovo to protect its citizens faster. A healthy, independent, stable Kosovo is the strongest partner for the United States”
For donated vaccines, the Kosovo Embassy in Pristina has also written, saying they are lifesaving, secure and very effective.
“Today, the United States donated an additional 503,100 doses of life-saving, secure and very effective Pfizer vaccine for Kosovo. Including the first part of 20 camps, the United States has delivered over 538,200 doses to protect Kosovars”, the US Embassy's post said.
Kosovo has been facing a tragic situation with pandemic for over two weeks. Coronervirus' Delta version has found suitable grounds in the small Balkan country, whose citizens spent a summer without any restrictions.
Statistics released by the University “John Hopkins” show that Kosovo has failed to manage pandemic and in vaccinate the population.
Graphics published by this university present the number of confirmed cases with Covid-19. With over 12,000 infected for the period from 3 August to 28 August, statistics show that Kosovo ranks first with mostly new cases.
Even for the number of victims registered during this time, Kosovo is the first with over 70 victims, leaving Spain, France, England and Italy behind.
The government has so far not been able to slow down the exponential growth of new cases with coronarys, and therefore the frightening increase in the number of victims, which continues to be above 20 per day.
A few days ago, Health Minister Arben Vitita announced the release of 133 thousand and 234 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which had expired on August 31st.
At the same conference, Vitita also announced that this week the vaccination teams will work even during the weekend, as they so far ceased Saturdays and Sundays.
