Trajkovic for the crisis in the north: Many are avoiding Kosovo as transit route, have economic implications

The Serbian politician says another problem is that all this difficulties in the circulation of people and goods at administrative crossings further isolate Kosovo and exclude it from normal functioning in the region.
“Many will now avoid Kosovo as their transit path, which carries further economic, political and security risks and consequences”.
Trajkovic has also talked about the risks the situation created following the application of reciprocity for Serbia's license plates.
With all the good will of the Kosovo Police and Serbs in Kosovo, such a sensitive situation can never be fully controlled. There is a serious danger that an unexpected reaction can lead to protests in an undesirable direction. The longer they stay at the barricades, the greater the possibility of conflict and radicalisation. While now we see that Serb forces have approached the Kosovo administrative line”, she said.
This crisis is happening even in the pre-election atmosphere in Kosovo, in the wake of local elections under difficult circumstances and for which the possibility of not being held is considered. Placing Kosovo into an extra state in the circumstances of an already existing state of emergency is not a responsible decision. If this continues and no quick solution is found for the crisis, Serbs and Albanians in a state of emergency will be unable to make an effective election campaign. Moreover, it is now unknown whether Kosovo Serbs will stand up in the elections at all under these circumstances. That means going back to the situation and political processes in Kosovo”, Trajkovic told Telegrafi.
