In the report released today, the Errette kingdom said the missile struck a target 930 km away over the weekend.
The rockets fell into the country's territorial waters on Saturday and Sunday.
To observe the launch, there were leaders of the Korean Labour Party and other key officials and scientists from the defence sector.
The declaration hailed the launch as “a strategic weapon of great importance” in the five-year defence department plan.
This comes after a senior American military commander issued a thrilling warning to North Korea and said “I am almost 24/7, 365” if the missile is launched.
General Glen VanHerck said America “continues to be ready to respond, if North Korea chooses to launch a” missile at a conference Friday.
