As many countries in the world will test children before the new school start, the chairman of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture, Nundman Jashari, says the issue is up to schools to engage in this direction.
It's a very difficult task if it's left to schools, educational directors and parents engaged for students, because we don't have the right to deal with students because it's ours to vaccinate and advise students to protect them as much as possible for the school year to run a whole”, Jashar told EO.
“ ... will be an additional problem because it is obviously jeopardised even the course of the new school year”, he said.
He says the application for testing students before the start of the new school year is due to municipal education directors, as he says if the request comes from the SBASK, he points to criticism.
It's been left to educational directors to make this request because we engage in this matter people can say that the SBASK is working on it with students, it would be good to have a real picture of the situation tested because if the state and institutions see fit to start vaccinating new ages with the sole purpose of having them have a defense, being all protected, Jashari added.
“The education workers are ready for the new school year, from the meetings we've had with the Minister of Education, Arberie Nagavci to them, the reports have come that they're getting ready, and most of them have done it, I wish that the DKA reports that have reached MAST be accurate”, he concluded.
While the director of the Institute “ED”, Youth Qehaja, says such recommendation from health institutions should be welcomed by the school community.
I estimate that testing students, but even vaccinating them is nothing out of mind. We have such vaccination practices, already started by Western countries, and as recommendation from health institutions from these countries, and as such for our country when it comes as recommendation from responsible institutions then should be welcomed by the school community as contributing to their health and security during this period of indemecination of”, Qehaja said.
Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in Kosovo Arberie Nagavci has said that despite education institutions prepared for the start of the new school year with physical presence on 13 September, but after meeting with Health Ministry officials, she has been recommended to observe current measures even for a certain period.
