Although the Kosovo government has not announced (until now), Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu is located in Belgrade, within the framework of the Western Balkan countries' Railway Summit.
Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabyq has said that Serbia has invested more than 600m euros since 2014 for railways, taking this topic very seriously under the railway modernisation process in Western Balkan countries, writes V. Novosti, translate Periscope.
“We will place railways as the main transport for our passengers”, Brnabyq said, adding that the year â2021 is the year of railways for EU countries, as well as Serbia, within the Green Agency.
Even the Serbian Minister of Infrastructure has promoted Serbia's commitment to the railway project.
This year has been declared the European Year of Railways and, as we have said, this year we will complete the revolutionary railway project (the largest) in Serbian history. Connecting to Europe through railways and creating a single railway space is not only challenging, but at the same time, a very important company for all of us. This summit, it is an indication that we are committed and we have the desire to connect, but also that we have great potential to strengthen our co-operation“, Momirovic said.
Otherwise, Kosovo Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu is staying for a visit to Belgrade.
In Serbia's capital, Aliu signed agreements with the ministers of five other Western Balkan countries dealing with the region's connection through railways.
From the Kosovo government, they have not indicated in advance of the Kosovo minister's visit to Belgrade. This is among the rare visits of a Kosovo official to the Serbian capital. /Periscope
