The meeting has taken place in Doha, Qatar, to discuss safe passage from Afghanistan to British and Afghan citizens they worked with.
A spokesman for the prime minister's office has said that “the prime minister's special representative for the Afghan Transition, Simon Gass, has travelled to Doha and is meeting with the high Taliban representatives to underline the importance of safe passage from Afghanistan to British and Afghan citizens who have worked with us over the past 20 years”.
